Jane Street Estimation
Friday, March 27, 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM — Porter Hall 100
The Estimathon is a mind-bending mixture of math and trivia. In teams, you'll attempt 13 Fermi problems in 30 minutes, ranging from totally trivial to positively Putnamesque.
Be prepared to come up with the best set of confidence intervals! Sample problems include:
- How many stop signs are in New York City?
- How many babies were born in 1900?

Jump Trading: Jump Insight
Saturday, March 28, 5:00 PM — Porter Hall 100
Jump Insight is a fast-paced, team-based challenge that tests your skills in integral calculus and quantitative estimation. Over the course of an hour, teams will work through 20 carefully designed questions inspired by real-world problem-solving and estimathon-style thinking.
Success isn't just about getting the right answer—it's about how you get there. Teams must collaborate, communicate, and think critically under time pressure, balancing speed with precision on every problem.
A unique scoring system rewards both accuracy and confidence. After each submission, teams will evaluate how confident they are in their answer—adding a strategic edge that can boost your score and separate you from the competition.
In the end, it's not just about solving problems—it's about thinking smarter, working better as a team, and performing under pressure.
Integration Bee
Saturday, March 28, 5:00 PM — Scaife Hall 105
Participants will be given a number of interesting integration problems written by CMIMC members to try and solve as many as they can. Participants can see a live leaderboard with everyone's score throughout the event.
The test will last ~40 minutes, and the top scorers will be recognized.
